When I was contacted by a former Miss Universe and actress to do some commercial work for a magazine she would be featured in, I was excited to do something a little new. Then I got the specs from the magazine and got a little bit worried. They wanted some shots for the cover and an inside spread… the only problem was they wanted nice fall colors because the magazine would be published in South Carolina in October. We were shooting in July. Most of you from around here know that even in fall, we don’t have the spectacular fall colors that they do in South Carolina -and in July that is even more difficult to find. So I finally picked a pretty park that I knew could be colorful and picked up a big potted geranium to add some red color.
I had so much fun on this shoot – “S” was absolutely beautiful and so easy to work with. And the editor was thrilled with the selection of images. It doesn’t exactly look like fall in the Appalachians, but I think you will agree with me that I couldn’t go wrong with such a beautiful subject to work with! Some things I loved most reading about this former Emmy nominee is her feelings on the importance of motherhood (the greatest job on earth!) and gratitude!
