I just love when I get to post photos of my own kids. I always joke that my kids are the most photographed kids on the planet…but you’d never know it because sadly, so many of those images are buried in 3 TB hard drives and may never see the light of day. Photographs are to be enjoyed…and printed and shared! So I am grateful for the occasions that force me to actually edit and print pictures of my own family! We took these baptism portraits for Audrey exactly one week ago at the Beautiful Cedar Grove Park in Tustin. I loved the woodsy feel to this location – it worked great for the look I had in mind…or that Audrey had in mind. For a just turned 8 year old, she sure had her own ideas about how this should go! We had her dress custom designed and made by the very talented Cheryl Sheldon (who will be having a whole line of gorgeous baptism attire coming soon!) and Audrey was very particular about what she wanted: nothing too shiny (no on the satin, yes on the silk), not very “poofy” or frilly – and just a a bit of lace and flower elements. In fact, Audrey completely designed this dress herself – drawing a very detailed picture of exactly what it should look like! And Cheryl did a great job of making this design come to life! And Audrey didn’t want to curl her hair…but she wanted to wear flowers in it. And she wanted everything to look just a little bit old fashioned. I had such fun working around the very particular specifications of this charming little model! Best of all, it was definitely a bonding moment between me and my daughter! I’m so proud of her and the choices that she has been making and for her decision to be baptized! She is such a fine and loving young lady who cares deeply about everyone. So excited for her baptism coming up in two days!
