Normally I like to shoot as close to sunset as possible….but this family wanted to come and get their family pictures done and out of the way and then spend the day exploring and learning about the San Juan Capistrano Mission. And I learned that the light is pretty lovely there any time of day -but mornings and late afternoons see to work best! This was a morning session with a family whose portraits I have captured for many years now, since their twin boys went to preschool with my middle child. It’s amazing to see how much the boys have grown and matured over the years. They were excited to share with me and their parents all of the things they have learned about the mission on their previous field trips to this awesome place. And I let them direct a lot of the shoot, which was fun for them! Here’s just a little sampling of the portraits we captured on this fun day!
