I have been “shooting” this family for, I think, six or seven years now, and they truly are more like friends than clients. I look forward to seeing them every year and they always take such beautiful portraits! I was super excited that they wanted to try out my latest theme idea, which was Christmas on the beach. The idea was to bring a fresh cut Christmas tree and a sled and drag it onto the beach and set it up and trim it. I planned it for the week before Thanksgiving, certain that there would be some fresh cut trees somewhere by then. Wow was I wrong. I searched high and low for a tree..any tree…didn’t have to be huge or perfect. But apparently there was a shortage of trees this year – or they were all late due to weather. So I ended up with a cute little juniper tree in a red pot. At least the red and green looked somewhat Christmas-y…but not exactly what I was going for. Fortunately, my beautiful subjects more than made up for my lack of a perfect tree. And their idea to trim with seashells and starfish rather than the ornaments I brought made things even cuter. Then we were blessed with an amazing sunset and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out! Enjoy the sneak peek!
