So… I didn’t offer Halloween mini sessions this year because time (and life) just got away from me. But when a friend told me about her idea to dress her family up for Halloween as characters from The Greatest Showman, I really couldn’t resist. I’m not a big movie watcher, but so many friends and family recommended this movie to me last year that I took my entire family to see it in the theaters (probably the only movie we’ve all been to in the last two years!). Styled shoots have always been a fun favorite of mine and this was no exception. Megan did an exquisite job on every costume and getting to pull in my not-very-camera-shy horse Nugget was a bonus “prop” for sure. We had dad dressed up as PT Barnum (of course), Mom as Charity (his wife), oldest daughter dressed up and Anne Wheeler (the trapeze artist – and a striking resemblance to Zendaya from the movie); the next daughter played the part of both the albino twins (a little photoshop magic was necessary for this), the youngest daughter, who rides Nugget in lessons dressed as General Tom Thumb and the cutest little one dressed up as the Strongman.
This has to be one of my favorite Halloween costume/styled shoots yet, and we had perfect light to complement the gorgeous subjects. All we were missing was a circus tent. Thank goodness for Photoshop magic -and a past gig shooting under the big top for some personal stock photography! Enjoy this fun styled photography session in South Orange County!
