I had the pleasure of shooting Zachary’s missionary photos a couple of month’s ago. He was preparing to serve a mission for the LDS church in New Zealand. This gorgeous family wanted to get a nice family portrait taken before he left for two years in October. As is usually the case when preparing for something like this, schedules and life get really busy and fitting a family photo in can be stressful. But we were able to fit it in the week before he headed out – and rather than loading everyone up and heading to a beach or park we made it easier and more simple by shooting in their lovely neighborhood of One Ford Road in Newport Beach. The best thing about this approach is that it’s also a lot more personal! We just walked around the neighborhood finding lovely places to shoot at – and we had more lovely locations than we did light! By the end we were shooting in total darkness, but we had a great time. It helps that besides being completely photogenic, the kids were up for anything and so well behaved! Enjoy your sneak peek W family!
